Have you heard of Chang'an, GAC or Xindayang? Probably not, but that should change soon. These Chinese car manufacturers are about to enter the European car market offering sophisticated diverse models at very competitive prices. Not just the automotive industry but the global business landscape as a whole is changing fast. Since Asian competitors are able to offer ever more technologically advanced competitive products, productivity and flexibility are becoming key competitive factors. The laser-based welding technology developed by LASHARE gives manufacturers a tool at hand to keep up the pace in the struggle strive for market shares.

Laser welding is the process of using the energy of a laser source to join or bond two substrates. Extremely high welding speed, low thermal distortion, and narrow weld shapes are the main benefits of our laser-based welding technology. Being applicable in a wide range of areas, e.g. manufacturing of jewelry or dental products, and joining of pipes in construction, Laser Welding is especially pervasive in the automotive industry. The production of a single car requires up to 5000 welds, of which 20% are already executed by lasers.
Despite progress to date, challenges remain in further increasing the welding depth in heavy industry and the processing speed and precision overall since the competition never stands still. These challenges are currently tackled in these assessments:

LASPRO  - High speed infrared laser welding monitor and control

MOBILLAS - Mobile laser system for on site material processing

TWOMICRO - Two micron laser source for light weight materials and medical sector
